Google Searching Tips 29 November, 2005

This is just a copy of my post. This copy is there because I wanted it to be a page originally but had lost when I first composed the page and lost it. So I made the post and copied it to this page

I dont need to give any introduction to Google . So here goes the post. It is not original work. Its just a complilation of what I found on the web. Search for Ebooks

+(�index of�) +(�/ebooks�|�/book�) +(chm|pdf|zip|rar) +apache is the query when searched in google is which gives out an index of ebook servers based on Apache and an Index of Files.

allinurl: +(rar|chm|zip|pdf|tgz|lit) TheTitle is the query to be searched for where TheTitle is to be replaced with the book you want to find. Say if you want to find for Google Hacks, replace TheTitle with “Google Hacks” . The quotes are suggested only if you are sure of the name of the book. Searching for “The DaVinci Code â€? will give you poorer results since the book name is “The Da Vinci Codeâ€?

Search for Warez in Google

“parent directory ” Xvid -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums
“parent directory ” MP3 -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums
“parent directory ” applications -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums
“parent directory ” Gamez -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums
“parent directory ” DVDRip -xxx -html -htm -php -shtml -opendivx -md5 -md5sums

Replace the bold part with your query and search for it in Google
Say if you want to search for Limewire simply replace the applications with Limewire and search for it on Google
Say if you want to find a song by Guns N’ Roses November Rain, replace the mp3 part with November Rain or if you want to find songs by Guns n’ Roses, replace the mp3 part with Guns N’ Roses and voila! You get a string of results related to what you want

Search for MP3s on Google

?intitle:index.of? mp3

Another way to search for mp3s on Google is to use this query. After mp3 put up what you want to download and search for it on Google.

Say you want to look up Nirvana, the query will be ?intitle:index.of? mp3 Nirvana

Search for files on megaupload and rapidshare

To see video files available on MegaUpload… put the following in google:avi|mpg|mpeg|wmv|rmvb site:megaupload.com
To see all music files available on MegaUpload… google: mp3|ogg|wma site:megaupload.com
To see all archives and programs available on MegaUpload… google: zip|rar|exe site:megaupload.com
To get some ebooks google: pdf|rar|zip|doc|lit site:megaupload.com

To see video files available on Rapidshare.de… put the following in google: avi|mpg|mpeg|wmv|rmvb site:rapidshare.de
To see all music files available on Rapidshare.de… google: mp3|ogg|wma site:rapidshare.de
To see all archives and programs available on Rapidshare.de… google: zip|rar|exe site:rapidshare.de
To get some ebooks google: pdf|doc|lit|rar|zip site:rapidshare.de

For megaupload and rapidshare searching, narrow down you search for what you want by putting your query at the first part.

Say if you want to search for da vinco code ebook use the query
da vinci code pdf|doc|lit|rar|zip site:rapidshare.de
